The final countdown has begun!
To round out the days until May 15, we’ll be having a look back at some of the events that have brought us to release.
We’ll start with the official announcement of the game which occurred four years ago, when Mike Morhaime revealed that Diablo 3 was in development to a packed auditorium at the 2008 Blizzard Worldwide Invitational, in Paris, France, on the 28th of June, 2008.
I know I’ve posted this before, but I’ve been waiting so f’ing long…

Saw a sneak peak video of the Barbarian gameplay and went to the shop a couple of days later.
Its here now *rocks back and forth* Its here now
I always cry while watching this video…
The cheer from the crowd is so emotional…
Watching this reminds me why I love Blizzard. Watching this always makes me happy.
Remember back in ’08 and hearing that first strum on the guitar. Still haven’t gotten rid of the goosebumps…
The moment for me that I’ll never forget was seeing Diablo’s face pop through the ice on the D3 website. I remember where I was and what I was doing. I didn’t get to witness the Blizzcon event
That was beyond cool. How much time passed between the time when Diablo II was released to the public and Mike Morhaime let us know that there would be a Diablo III? However much time it was, it was worth it!
Seven years between release of Lord of Destruction and announcement of D3.
