A Place to Show Off: Character Profile Page
May 11, 2012 in News! by Motorskull
Soon™ there is going to be a Character Profile Page as an extension of the Official Site. From the description, it appears it will function similarly to the World of Warcraft Armory, showing such things as your gear, skill build and campaign progression.
You can read all about it, as well as the more long-range plans for the Profile Page, here.

Seems like an excellent way to stroke one’s ego
. Show off all those SoJ’s, pimped out armor, world-breaking weapons, and kick-ass achievements you’ve collected over the hours. All, except for that whole 27 second Hardcore character thing, lolz.
I just hope they have something like the WoW one where you can choose a pose for your character and that it all updates as you upgrade your gear, instead of being just the paper doll from the game.
On a side note, it would be awesome once the D3 battle.net API is realeased if we figure out how integrate the data into our profile page here.
On another side note, I was wondering how long it would take someone to start whining on the official forums about people being able to copy their build, and the answer was… a bit over an hour
The character model thing was the suggestion I put on the forum. I know it’s something they’ll probably do in any case, but I just wanted to make sure it was mentioned.
Whole lot of noise about nothing:
Un-gear and un-skill (or re-skill) before you log off – Sorted.
No one will know how you managed to punch Inferno Diablo in the face.
Exactly – just like the ultra paranoid (or some competitive PvP-ers) already do with the WOW Armory. Just having a look over the official forums, the whining doesn’t seem to have gained much traction, at least for now.
Be secretive and not let anybody know what awesome gear you have, or toot your horn and lay it down for all to see… Either way, I have a feeling I’ll be spending too much time there. I already can hear my friends complaining about making them wait for the next run because I’m playing with my dolly!
