100% on the crafting system… and it still has probs since the patch, imo. I’d just like parity in the 3 treasure drop locations – world, AH and crafting. Finding stuff out in the world and crafting stuff is *so* much more fun than buying shit off the AH. I don’t mind crafting items being expensive and having to work toward them, and getting tons of duds from my tries (this is Diablo after all) but even since the patch, a lot of these things STILL aren’t worth making.
39 min – Really great call, Ken with what you said about so-called game issues people are whining about on the forums and why those people are wrong.
47.50 – emote for treasure gobbos. Let’s get that in game ASAP
Yeah, the stash size is a concern for me, too… I’m storing stuff on mules and the expired AH tab also. I wouldn’t say it’s a major problem for me as yet – since I could bite the bullet and either vend or give it away, but it’s a constant annoyance.
I am worried about the upcoming legendary item buff. I really, really, REALLY don’t want legendary items to be the no-brainer choice for all your item slots – and there’s ALREADY some class guides saying that certain legendaries are Best in Slot items. I sincerely hope they keep Rare items as the items you’ll be after – as long as they’re (for example) in the top 20% of items. Make legendaries great, but make rares better FFS.
And, for the record, I am a 2H barb and I do ok
You raised a lot of great topics in the show and it was great to listen to, guys. Send it to Blizzard HQ – this is the sort of feedback they need to listen to!
I *finally* got around to watching this episode. Sorry for the delay, boys, but there was Diablo to be played!
I am a little sad having watched it though. I just added up time on all my account’s characters, and I am a little over 120 hours total, yet I have not seen a single legendary item drop. With all the talk of all the legendaries you’ve seen, I feel totally left out. Did I miss a memo on drop statistics?
Also, I have noticed how poorly 2-handers compare to 1-handed weapons. I’ve really wanted to build up a 2-hander focused Barbarian as my second character, but when the 1-handed weapons I’ve seen drop flat-out completely outclass the 2-handers in DPS, it makes me think that the developers’ discussion on the old Diablo forums about making sure 2-handers would be viable fell by the wayside.
I remember making a big deal about needing to retire the concept of weapons that Barbarians could use in either 1 or 2 hands (because those are much harder to balance). I suggested oversized 1-handed weapons that were class-restricted to Barbarians, to achieve the same look that so many loved in D2 where the Barbs were holding giant swords and whatnot in a single hand, and I’d like to think those ideas influenced the development of some of the mighty weapons.
I remember Bashiok talking about item mods restricted to 2-handed weapons that would allow piling up of stats as effectively as equipping two 1-handed weapons, but I am just not seeing that come to fruition. I hope something is in the works to change that disparity, but I am not going to hold my breath.
Right now, the only use for 2-handed weapons I see is to toss the occasional one on my Enchantress. She’s pretty adept at using her delicate hands to work a massive weapon… if you know what I mean.
