The usual Tuesday maintenance will stretch out to a massive 8 hours this week. Fire and brimstone coming down from the sky! Rivers and seas, boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes! Volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!

The patch didnt do anything as far as I can tell
I don’t think they really patched anything in D3. I thought it was just server downtime for the SC2 patch.
