From the Diablo 3 official forums comes a post regarding updates to the Auction House. There are quite a few changes coming down the pipe, including:

• expanding the number of preferred stats from 3 to 6
• increasing the number of digits for the ‘Min Value’ field from 3 to 5
• stat increased provided by gems will no longer factor in searches
• armor, DPS, buyout and time left are now sortable columns on the item listings
• the ability to cancel auctions at any time provided the item has no active bids
• expanded error messages
• many, many more
