Fun Fact: Up until today, I had a mere one ($#17) legendary drop. Today, Hellrack and Pusspitter dropped for my 61 WD within 10 minutes.
I get the distinct feeling there is either no reason to farm with less than 150% innate MF, or they’ve increased the drop-rates so radically lately that I might be able to have fun with this game for a few years. Or perhaps both.
I look forward to watching this episode when I get a chance.
1.) What was up with the terrible break in the middle of the episode? Did BP’s internet seizure?
2.) Anecdote for magic finding in D2: Whittling down Hell Baal by myself when there were 7 other players going through act 1, stack on my MF gear to finish Baal off, aaaaaaaand… he drops TWO set items!… Sigon’s Guard. Twice. Because he hates me. I did not even know it was possible for a boss to drop the same set item more than once.
3.) Collecting low level sets in D2 was kinda fun. As much as I hated that double Sigon’s drop, I liked the set. I hope they patch some in after they roll out PvP.
4.) In a decade of D2, I think I saw maybe 2 or 3 SoJ’s drop. I am pretty sure the last ladder I played on I had 2 of them on one character. However, there was no way in Inferno I was going to sell those on the off-chance I’d convince the clone to spawn.
5.) The first few ladder seasons that involved the Diablo Clone were fun. I actually saw the Clone spawn a few times, and I even beat him once or twice and claimed the Annihilus Charm. However, there developed Clone Hunting “clans” over the seasons. I looked into their method, and it involved scanning IPs to figure out which server their multiplayer games were on, gathering the entire clan onto a single server that had a high SoJ count accumulated, and then simultaneously selling their SoJ’s (a clan membership fee) to try and “pop” the server. This resulted in the later ladders having very few randomized spawns of the Clone, because not only was the duped surplus of SoJ’s partially depleted off the realm, but also the clan was camping the server they were going to pop, so random chumps as myself never really saw the random spawn again. It was sad end to a brief era of revitalized D2 play, and it turned into MF Hammerdin/Sorcerer => Uber Hunting Smiter builds for just about every account I knew of. It got a little dry.
6.) On Legendary items: I *love* the idea of the new special effects seen on some legendaries (e.g. firechains, angel/demon follower spawning, goblin spawning, etc.). I think special effects such as those, as well as the off-item affixes (e.g. runwalk on gloves) paired with reasonable stats that *are* outclassed by top tier Rares is exactly the niche that Legendary items should fill. They should be quirky and different than the standard fare, but also it is better for the game if most players are not aiming for their entire armory to consist of legendary items.
I look forward to the next episode. For part of the episode, you guys should try out some MP X settings and see how it goes.
I just got your message about this about 10 minutes ago
Now I feel bad.
The more I read about 1.0.5, the happier I am. I am liking a lot of the class skill changes, and that resplendent chests are finally back on deck.

Edit: I was wrong. Those were my 3rd and 4th legendary drops. I found a crappy axe on my low level DH that I had not played in a while.
Yep, they doubled it, and when you add MP in, you get a ton more. It is great. I made my first hellfire ring today, it sucked really bad lol
the one you linked me the other day kicked ass, so I wouldn’t complain too loudly!
I think that was the second one, I will link you the first one tomorrow

That would be funny to watch them take out like MP 5 or something
Brand new naked characters. MP 10. GO!
