A wizard is one not to be confused with that of a sorcerer- for in their actions they seek the use of magic for their own ends. They do not adhere to the ancient traditions or teachings- and refuse to be shackled by restraint or limitation.

A child prodigy- originally from the island of Xiansai, trained by the Zann Esu Mage clan, turned over to the strict teachings of the Vizjerei to break a strong rebellious nature- this headstrong 19 year old sought all of the forbidden teachings. Valuing knowledge above all else- with complete and total disregard for the punishment inflicted upon themselves or others, it ended in a showdown between the greatest Vizjerei Mage Valthek. While much of the area lay in ruin (Through the power of the great Vizjerei mage) and the stories of the conflict rising to epic proportion- the truth seems clear. While not as powerful, and unable to win in single one on one honorable combat- the Upstart not only managed to survive the encounter, but has fled leaving the Valthek still unconscious. Trickery and Deceit were the most powerful tools used in arsenal of said wizard; strong enough however to bring a great man low.

Within the time spent abroad studying in the Yshari sanctum however brought many great tools of the trade through the forbidden tomes. Within lay a prophecy of the end days- and through the interpretations of the reader- it was determined that their fates were entertwined within the prophecy of the fallen star. To what end destiny takes a young wizard with a desire to meet fate head on with the power to warp time and space is anyone’s guess, though one thing is for certain. . . the height of that arrogance is not without due warrant.
